In Pakistan we all are
familiar with word terrorist. Many refer it to as agencies working in Pakistan.
But are we aware of the roadside terrorist that we can encounter on roads very
easily. No! I am not talking about the thugs that rob us but I am talking about
the public transport that roams on the road.
The beautifully
dressed ladies of road, Bus, the ugly looking taxis and the hybrid between car
and motorcycle, rikshaws and qinchis, can be easily called as terrorists. Why?
As they play an important role in hauling the gas-bomb on road.
Several incidents have
been heeded that CNG cylinders explode sometime injuring people and sometime
having the audacity to even kill the passengers. Our media propagates so much
on this issue. They blame the police officers and our so-called government but
nothing happens as usual.
Who should be really
blamed for this issue? Should the Police are to be blamed, transporters are to
be blamed or the government is to be blamed? Well really if we see the
situation then it’s neither the blame of the police nor the drivers. The actual
person to blame is the CNG load shedding.
Well the question is
how? Well let’s see accidently a news flash on screen and says that the CNG
will remain close for 48 hours. As soon as people digest the flash they get out
of home to get their car filled up and so does the transporters who unlike us
are on daily wages. They try their best to keep their tanks filled so that they
can earn in between the period of load shedding.
Well we all know one
cylinder is not enough to provide transport services in a city like Karachi
and soon transporters stand along the road-side with empty cylinders and no way
to earn money.
Imagine the situation
for them. Isn’t it unfair for them that they can’t earn for the remaining
period of time. As they are daily wagers hence it would very difficult for them
to provide food to their children. They would be seeing their children sleeping
empty stomach. Is it fair?
Well then to escape
away from the situation they arrive to solution to have more than one cylinders
installed in their respective cars. Though it may risk life of passenger but
they are satisfied as using this technique they earn in times when CNG is not
available.
Yes! The accidents are
increasing but still they have all right to earn. I by no mean support the
activities of having more than one cylinder in one vehicle but thing is the
situation that CNGs closure creates for us is difficult. We the white collared
people face so much difficulties then what can expect from these people who
earn their living every day.
I know they are
carrying mobile gas-bombs with them on road and yes they have no right to play
with lives of other people but instead of media people propagating against them
and the police they should be making sure that CNG station no more remain out
of service. I believe if we put an end to this CNG crisis we will soon be
controlling the road-side terrorism spread throughout the country.
